Irresponsible behavior lies somewhere between a mistake and being malicious. That’s because common sense keeps most people away from irresponsible behavior. For example, common sense tells us to look behind us when we back our car out of the driveway. If we don’t, and we hit a parked car, we are being irresponsible. The difference between maliciously hitting someone’s car and accidentally hitting their car is up for debate. The bottom line is a car is dented and the person who backed up was being irresponsible.

Oftentimes, common sense doesn’t reach the bottom of an organization. Let’s say you run a flower shop. You hire a person to make deliveries for you. That person is relatively new to the job and hasn’t thought things through. They decide to park in an alley when making a delivery. This is irresponsible behavior. At any moment an emergency could happen and the alley would be needed for the police or fire dept. Or maybe things aren’t that drastic. It could be that another car comes down the alley and is blocked until the delivery truck moves. In either case, the driver is being irresponsible. On the other hand, if the driver did it because he simply doesn’t care about the neighbors who use the alley, this could be seen as malicious.

No matter what your claim, irresponsibility is something we all want to hear about here on Get Payback. Irresponsible behavior says volumes about people and companies. A company that doesn’t train their drivers to keep out of driveways or a person who doesn’t look behind them when backing up should be put on notice, right here at Get Payback.
