Doctors
Complaints, Rip Offs, Reports, and Reviews for: Doctors
Did you know that there is a legitimate issue called “white jacket syndrome” – it’s true! This is when a person has elevated blood pressure or anxiety around doctors. We are trained to trust doctors, as we should – they certainly go to school long enough, but that doesn’t change the anxiety many of us feel around them. This syndrome isn’t severe and only causes a few complications. For example, it’s better to do blood pressure tests at home instead of at the doctor’s office so your results are more accurate. Beyond that, it’s just a matter of getting over it.
However, “white jacket syndrome” isn’t the only issue to worry about with doctors. Again, we are trained from a young age to trust doctors. The problem is, doctors are humans. This means they can have any number of personal agendas or worse, personal demons. Unlike other professions, doctors are held to a moral standard in addition to a professional standard. This means that if a doctor does something morally wrong, like sleeping with a patient, they can be professionally liable.
On one hand, this is great because it protects you from seeing a doctor that has committed a crime. Of course, that assumes that every doctor is caught when they do something. And anybody with a car knows that you don’t get caught every single time you break the law. How many times (a day even) have you passed the speed limit? You don’t get a ticket each time, and doctors don’t either.
If you have been the victim of malpractice or improper service or even a moral issue with a doctor we want to hear about it. Chances are you can file a complaint with the hospital or a medical review board. We here at Get Payback ask that you also submit your claim here. Otherwise, the general public won’t know what happened.
Remember, doctors are held to a higher standard and so we feel safe with them. The vast majority of people would never research a doctor’s personal/professional past beyond a website or quick phone call. This means that even if a doctor is caught for something – it’s unlikely his future patients would know unless his license was revoked. And even then, we all know that people practice medicine without licenses.
So do us all a favor and submit your claim right away! And while you are here, be sure to read about the other claims to find things to look out for!
