Complaint #2
By: Missykitty.
Proactive Solutions Don’t take cancellations seriously. I ordered this product for my daughter. It made her complection worse.
So I called and cancelled. They sent more product, which I immediately sent back unopened. Called again, said that they would cancel and would refund my money upon receiving the product.
A month later I still have not been credited and they have charged my credit card once again. I called again this evening.
I want them stopped. I cannot afford for them to continue doing this to me and I am sure I am not the only person.

I purchased the VitaClear Vitamins when I ordered ProActive since they are from the same makers as ProActive, Guthy-Renker LLC.
I ordered the free month supply to try them out and see how they work, on the website it notified me to cancel before the 30days of trial period was up and I would no be billed anymore for them. I tried them and was not satisfied with their VitaClear vitamins because they did not work for me. I am a busy single mother and forgot to cancel the vitamins until I seen on credit card statement that I was being billed $32.94 for the vitamins.
I called (888)848-2797 on July 1st 2011 and I reached a women and told her what happened, why I did not want them and that I wanted to go ahead and just cancel the whole thing all together. She informed me that everything was taking care of I would not be billed anymore and to return the vitamins when I receive them for a refund.
A month later on August 2nd 2011 I seen on my credit card statement that I was billed again for $32.94 and this time it shown that this was a 2/3 payment that this company would be charging me! Keep in mind that I have yet to receive the first set of VitaClear vitamins from July. I called hem back and asked them why was I billed again? I already canceled these vitamins! I was told that these vitamins are a 3month supply and that’s what I’m being billed for. I told her that I was never told nothing about this, and again that I already cancelled them. She told me when I receive them to return them for a refund.
So I’m just supposed to just let you guys make unauthorized charges to my credit card when I haven’t even received the first vitamins I just cant afford it and Its no right. When I asked to speak to her manager she told me that there was no manager I could talk to? I called my credit card company and told them what happened and I am currently in the process of filling a Dispute against this company. I have also had to cancel my credit card just so that they could not bill me for vitamins that I have never received to this day and its August 15th 2011.
I would not advise anyone to purchase VitaClear they personally did not work for me and this company is a total scam because for some reason it is so difficult to cancel these vitamins and that’s very suspicious.Once they have your credit card number they will continue to charge you!
I have done research online about this company and there are numerous pages of complaints made about people trying to get their money back and VitaClear keeps charging them without permission, they never received the product, how they cant cancel these vitamins, and people eventually had to just cancel their credit card because you cannot trust VitaClear with your personal credit card.

I just called my bank to put a stop payment and file a claim for the unauthorized charges. Proactiv allows a product to get your information but they won’t do anything. I called and told them to not send anymore when I saw the charge on my account and I will be sending it back when it gets here. They have everything to help you to order on the Proactive site making it so easy to order and no where on there to cancel service. So annoying.
I too had similiar experiences. I was in ny for three months and came back to the caribbean. Although I emailed and messaged twice about cancelation they continued to deduct the money from my card and continued shipping when I’m no longer there. I would not recommend proactiv on this basis.. Professionalism counts!
Do not buy! These vitamins are no better than any drug store vitamin and are ridiculously expensive. I cancelled my order after two months of seeing no effects on my skin. Then two months later I received another package and an invoice stating that they will be deducting $109 from my bank account over the next couple of months. I called to cancel the order again and the girl at customer service said I never cancelled my account the first time. I asked her “then what account did I cancel?’ She was short with me and said she didn’t know. I’m sending them back this time for a refund. I’ve never encountered a company like this. How many times do you have to cancel before they listen? Is this legal for them to ignore my cancellation and take money from my bank account?
Today I went to the doctor for a RASH I have on my face. I GOT IT WHEN I STARTED USING THESE VITAMINS. I’m not necessarily blaming vitaclear, but I wanted to see if they are others who have also had this problem. If you have please can you reply cause its hard to keep track of what is causing this. & I am hardly allergic to anything so I don’t think that is the reason for this rash. Thanks in advance!
Im pretty sure that these guys say in fine print or not that the free trial is a 30 day supply and of course for vitamins you have to take for more than 30 days to really get any benefits from taking it…so they send out 90 day supply after the first 30 days. If you are getting charged on a card that should have been your first clue. Why would you put your card info in on a free trial? Also, if you call to cancel and continue to be charged its probably because you still have to pay the monthly fee for 3 month supply unless you return the product….sound familiar? Sorry yall had bad experiences but its probably not all one persons fault.
the same happened to me, I am still waiting the refund, I sent them the product 5 weeks ago, and they charged my card again. they are doing something illegal, they took my credit card number from proactil
I too purchased the proactive and got the free vitamins.
I cancelled before 30 days and these ppl were taking my
money every two weeks from my account. After calling upteen
times I had it all refunded and told again that it was cancelled
Two days later they hit my account for 27 bucks…I closed
the account.Called company and they went thru the order
has been shiped thing return product, yada, yade. Now
not only did they send two orders of the 100 dollar proactive
Kit but a huge bottle of vit.I will not be returning it and
they no longer have access to my account. After all the
Over draft fees I paid,I feel like they owed me the system.
After they lose so much money sending out so much of
product computer generated, maybe they will hire new
Customer service staff that will listen and do their damn job.
I totally agree with you! I, too, have the same problem. For me I actually cancel the product two months before they sent out the new ones. They pretend that they did not get my message. They charged me. I know that I have to sent it back, but still I have to pay for the shipping cost myself. ProActive is absolutely not be in my cycle life anymore. No recommend to anyone. The product is never work anyway
hi. just wanna tell you DON’T BUY THAT VITACLEAR VITAMINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just because of autoshipment! i hate that day when i order vitaclear for the 1st time! they charged me 3 times! and the last time i didn’t have any money on my account, and i got overdraft because of it! so the total cost of this vitamins about 150! they charge you 39 at the 1st time, then 29,95 and then again 29,95 and i got 35 for overdraft! i am so upset! so pissed off! really! about to cry! don’t do that mistake! don’t do!!!!!!!!! please!!! do you need that vitamins that cost more 100 ??? don’t think so! you can buy other for less money and for 1 payment!
and the thing with proactive the same! you have to pay again again and again!!!!!!!! please! don’t buy them!
I paid with a pre paid Visa card because I read the fine print. Its not that hard to read through what you are buying. Duh! I got the vitamins and the system. Im not even the brightest crayon in the box. Don’t be lazy and read what you are purchasing. And I just ordered today. Of course they are going to take your money….sheesh.
I am one of the “brightest crayon in the box”. When I ordered it said “Free Gift Of Vitamins” not “Vitamins for $32.94 a month.” They probably changed this since all of these complaints so don’t be a dick and call people stupid for clicking on “free gift” and expecting to not have to pay for it.
Why would you have to go to extra effort to get a real “free gift”? TANSTAAFL, there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. If it were part of proactive promotion, then you would not have to go to extra effort to get it added in. Since it is on its own, and it claims to be free, then I start looking at the fine print.
To be fair, however, it is rather difficult to cancel the vitamins. There is no email or online submission. There is nothing through Proactive, where they are signed up for. The only way to cancel short of driving to wherever there business is actually located, is by phone. Even then, you cannot call on weekends or after 5PM. And, apparently they aren’t the best at actually canceling when you ask nicely. Sort of reminds me of when switched from sprint to verizon. Two months later, I recieved yet another bill in the mail. They said it would be refunded. The next month I got another bill. Luckily for them, it was actually a refund and contained no more new charges. Why I got another bill/ statement last week, half a year later, (with no new charges, thankfully) is still beyond me. Some companies just have really terrible customer service.
This happened to me also. I’ve been billed over $180 since the “free trial”, which I cancelled. Yet, they continue to send me the boxes. They said once I ship the boxes back I can get a refund. The vitamins were a joke. They looked and even tasted fake. The company is a scam. They should be charged for billing without consent. DO NOT BUY and don’t be naive (like stupid me) and go for the “free trial”.
These guys are criminals. Like the others, I get the free trial and called them immediately to cancel. Thinking it was cancelled, when I checked my bill, I was surprised that there is a $46.09 charge on my account. I called Proactive immediately and they said that Vita Clear is a different division on their company and I should have called them instead of Proactiv. When I returned the item, the item was sent back to me cause the return address on the shipping receipt that came from them has an invalid zip code, which I ended up paying $15 for the return shipping. This guys should be put in jail!!!! Will never buy anything from these guys again.
I had the same problem with this company. I never received any product, not even the trial offer, yet I was continuously charged for months without realizing it. I was in high school at the time and rarely used my debit card, so I did not check my statements very often. The charges ended up over drafting my account, costing me a few hundred dollars in fees. (It’s like $30 for the initial fee, then more for every day the account is over drafted.) I immediately called the company and cancelled the order, but they refused to give me my money back for a product that I never even received!
I ended up going to my bank and filing a fraud report. The bank cancelled the overdraft charges immediately, and a week or so after filing the fraud report I was refunded for the vitamin charges themselves. You may want to contact your credit card company directly and explain that there have been unauthorized charges on your card. Depending on the company, you may be able to get some of the money back.
Hi! i read the forum online .And u right this people are scammers. They keep on charging me even though I called them already to cancel it.What the right thing I should do?Do you have any idea?I hope u response on me. Godbless!
