   I got this from Abigail Lash. My first response was answered within 6 hours. After reading the long form of her pitch, I told her to send the contract for my inspection and that I would investigate every check before cashing it and send no funds before my bank had confirmed that check’s validity. There was no further interest on their part in hiring me. There is a Specialty Laboratories in California, but they have no connection with this.

   I received the same offer last week, from Abigail Lash, of Specialty Laboratories Center Solution PLC. I did an internet search and found that no such company existed. An immediate indication that it is a scam is by the email address. If it is a large legitimate company, the email address should be tied to, or hosted by the company’s website – not AOL, YAHOO, or other email services.

   Here is my reply to her. I doubt that she will respond.

   Hi Abigail,

   Thank you very much for responding to my request for additional details. After readung your responce, I have great interest in this position, provided that this is all legitimate. However, I have some concerns about the legitimacy of your proposition.

   I have done some research and discovered that there are companies, with names similar to yours, that are being reported as scams. The offers being sent to other people are almost identical to your offer. The reports are that the checks are not real. People have cashed them at their bank and sent them by Western Union, only to discover days later that the checks were bogus.

   Before I give this position any further consideration, I will need further verification of your company’s authenticity, as a search of the the Internet did not yield any information on any legitimate company with your name. The verification information should be in the form of three (3) references, along with contact information for customers who would be purchasing your rquipment and sending me the checks for transfer to you.

   As further protection, against banking fraud that is so prevalent today, I would not send any funds to you until the checks issued to me have been cleared by my bank. If your company is real, and your offer is legitimate, this should not be a problem.

   I hope that you can understand my position and my concerns, and, I look forward to receiving your reply.

    It’s all over! people on Craigslist trying to scam the unemployed into doing things out of desperation. It’s getting to the point where they are trying to get you to things illegally without you even knowing it! I was offered a job posting ads on Craigslist for a scammer! the ads were also a scam! I was almost scammed into becoming a scammer!!!

    I knew this seems almost too good to be true.

    This isn’t the first type of email I got where you deposit money and transfer money and what not

    I have gotten one from like another “company” in “Germany”

    I thank the lord I check the legitimacy of these “company” before giving my information

    Oh also one thing I noticed that was inconsistent on their letter, at one point they say that you would be paid right away because you can keep the “commission amount” from the check before you send them the rest… but then later on it says they would pay you your commissions in a money order! LOL

    I also got this email yesterday and again from the new name of Charlotte Wallace. After all this I see Career Builder still has done NOTHING to fix it? Obviously they do not regulate at all who views your resume & resumes do contain personal information such as address, phone number, email, etc. SHAME ON THEM!!!

      I am so glad I decided to check on this. It seemed to good to be true but since it was coming from CareerBuilder I assumed it was legit. I received the same exact email from a Laura Warner. I have learned from previous scams to check on things like this. Hell I almost went to jail trying to cash a false check from a company like this. Thanks so much for the reviews and please please if you see this please DO NOT SEND THEM ANY INFO! IT IS DEFINITELY A SCAM. It sucks because I am a hard working studetn and single parent just trying to make a decent living just to be scammed by people like this!!!

    same exact info as the rest of the people on here but it looks like they changed their name. Sounds like the Money order scam how they want you to cash fraudulent checks and send them the money, but once they fine out its fraud, the bank takes the money out of your account but this company already has the wired funds. STAY AWAY…

    I found away to get funds back from the “Michelle Foster” people. I am giving them until 5pm today to fix the problem or else they will a much larger (federal fraud) problem. It really helps when you are related to people with very high social standings. I know scammer reads this so you better know that I’m serious.

    Got the very same email except she was Mia Price of Horizon Healthcare Partners PLC. I knew it was a scam as soon as I read the contents of what she wanted me to do and didn’t respond any further. My immediate reaction was ‘Does she think I have stupid stamped on the top of my forehead or something?’ No thank you. Careerbuilder confirmed what I knew when they sent an email warning to cease contact with this person which I had already done since the red flags went off in my head at the mention of my bank accounts on top of wanting my home address. My thoughts immediate jumped to that online thief show I saw on MSNBC that Chris Hanson did that was made similar to his ‘To Catch a Predator’ series. After Careerbuilder’s warning I forwarded the email that she sent me to the email address that onguardonline.gov gives for those types of emails.

I am a computer programmer and one hell of a hacker. So…I know where you are sending this from and have actually hacked into some things not going to tell where. But, I do know your exact location. So…this would be very bad for you and your system to scam me. But, I know that you are going to probably send me another canned letter. So i’ll just leave this at that. thanks. ^^

    LOL I got one of these too. Are they stupid or something? Because all we would have to do is put the check in our acct and wait until it goes through then send it. I guess some people are too hasty to jump on the “bonus” money for cashing it early. I’m almost tempted to try it to see if the checks clear or not. If they don’t….well no harm done. Just another scammer that did not get me. If they do, then maybe it’s legit lol. Any thoughts?

    I. CONTRACT PARTIES:

    Now, therefore, in consideration of the execution of the Contract, and the undertakings of the Parties as here in after set forth, it is agreed as follows:

    II. CONTRACT OBJECTIVES
    2.1. The purpose of this contract is carrying out the financial operations for and in the name of the Beneficiary according to it’s instructions by the Representative:
    a) The Representative will present itself at the location indicated by the Beneficiary, namely a bank where the Representative has an existing bank account and use this account to cash the checks;
    b) Cashing the funds on the checks for the Beneficiary;
    c) Sending the funds to the Beneficiary upon receiving instructions.

    III. DURATION OF CONTRACT
    3.1. This contract is made for a period of 1 (one) year, starting from September 01, 2011 to September 01, 2012.
    3.2. The duration of the contract stated in paragraph 3.1. from the present contract can be extended if both parties wish it and it will be stipulated in an additional annex.
    3.3. The Representative can terminate the contract and for that purpose the Representative will give a two-week notice to the Beneficiary. During these two weeks the Representative will still have to finish its duties until there are no more checks to clear or funds to send to the Beneficiary. The Beneficiary will stop sending checks to the Representative when the termination of contract notification is received.

    IV. FINANCIAL STIPULATIONS
    4.1. The representative also referred to below as he or she will receive 10% for every check processed in the first month. Within one month after receiving the first check he/she will get an extra $1,000 if he/she will manage to cash checks in a timely manner, also this bonus includes internet bill, phone bill, gas/bus tickets. We will support all bills he/she have to pay for your internet and cell phone. PLEASE NOTE: This bonus will apply after one month starting the day he/she will receive the first check.

    2. After two months of working with us, a secondary bonus will apply. The beneficiary will get 15% from all our sales. If he/she performs up to our standard and the business of the representative continues maintenance of current levels or expands in the beneficiary’s area, he/she will be able to do up to $1200 – $1300 per week + the bonus of $1,000 every month. If he/she does not perform up to the standard of the representative, or business levels are not maintained, he/she should not expect increased income levels as noted above. Should these aforementioned situations occur, representative will need to show good evidence to the beneficiary and not doing so allows beneficiary out of contract and exempt to agreed terms.

    3. Bonuses regarding cashing checks are as follow:

    a) Cash the check same day and you will receive a bonus of $150 for each check cashed.
    b) Cash the check within 24 hours and you will receive a bonus of $100.
    c) Cash the check within 48 hours and you will receive a bonus of $50
    4.2. The salary will be paid to the Representative by cashier check.
    4.3. The Beneficiary will cover financially any and all losses that the Representative might suffer due to any problems regarding the checks and money orders. These losses include all the fees and up to the full amounts on the checks/money orders that the bank might impose the Representative to pay.

    V. PARTIES OBLIGATIONS
    5.1. The Representative agrees:
    a) To follow and execute exactly the obligations towards the Beneficiary which he/she assumed in the virtue of the present representative contract;
    b) To promptly send the payment to our supplier indicated by the Company;
    c) To keep the relationship and transactions with the Company private from any third party;

    5.2. The Beneficiary of these services agrees:
    a) Not to force the Representative to make transactions or transfers that are illegal or in contradiction with the present contract;
    b) To assume all responsibility financially that will result from executing the present contract;
    c) To carry out all its obligations towards the Representative following the terms and conditions stipulated in the present representative contract.
    d) To issue a 1099 form for tax purposes and send it to the Representative after first transaction.

    VI. WARRANTIES
    6.1. The Representative guarantees for the execution of its duties in the present representative contract.
    6.2. The Beneficiary guarantees for the Representative its full support and financial aid in executing the objectives of the present representative contract.

    VII. CONTRACT TERMINATION
    7.1. The present representative contract will be terminated, without the need for a Court of Law to intervene in case one of the parties:
    7.1.1. Does not execute one of the essential obligations as stated in the present contract;
    7.1.2. Cessions its rights and obligations stated in the present contract without the approval of the other party;
    7.1.3. Breaks one of its obligations, after it has been warned, through a written notification by the other party that a new violation will result in the termination of the present contract.
    7.2. The party that will invoke termination of the obligations stated in the present contract will notify the other party with at least 14 days in advance before the date that the interruption will take effect.
    7.3. Cancellation of the present contract will not have any effect on the obligations falling due between the contract parties.
    7.4. The stipulations of the present contract do not eliminate the responsibility from the guilty party that caused for the contract to be void.

    VIII. EXTREME SITUATIONS
    8.1. Neither of the parties will be held responsible for not being able to carry out accordingly totally or partially any of its own obligations if an extreme force or situation (as defined by law) has caused it.
    8.2. The party that invokes an extreme situation is obligated to notify the other party as soon as possible of its happening and to take all the necessary measures to limit its consequences.

    8.3. The Representative will give a two-week notice to the Beneficiary if he/she has to go away from its location or cannot perform its duties due to illness. In either case the Representative will not suffer any penalties from the Beneficiary.

    IX. FINAL STIPULATIONS
    9.1. The modification of the present contract is possible only through additional annexes agreed and signed by both parties.
    9.2. The present contract along with its annexes which are constitutive part of its contents represents the will of both parties and eliminates any other verbal agreement between them, before or after its signing.

    I also received an unsolicited e-mail from “CareerBuilder” from Michelle Foster. Just out of interest (I knew it was a scam but wanted to see what the response would be) I e-mailed asking for more information about the company – name of company, website, etc.- and got the same canned e-mail as everyone else on this forum. It just amazes me that these people are still getting away with this. I wrote back & asked how she could sleep at night knowing she was ruining people’s lives. Wonder if she’ll respond…

      It looks like you and I are on the same page understanding this, cause I replied with the same type of response. Being a banker for over 20 yrs, I would never fall for something like this, but I would like to get my hands on one of the checks, verify it with the “supposed” client for a purchase order, call the issuing bank, verify if its legitimate, if not report it to them and authorities. I’m tempted! Don’t mess with a banker!

    It’s a fake check, usually so good that the bank will cash it for you then find out its a fake days later when you’ve sent off some and spent the rest. I know someone who got screwed out of $2300 and their credit got slammed because the were unable to pay the bank back for quite some time.

    there are money order scams running just as rampant.
    don’t believe anything that asks you to cash a check or money order and then to send off some of the cash thru western union.

    another popular job is “Mystery Shopper”. Where they send you the money order, you cash it and buy a product then send the product to a foreign address.

    its hard to believe people fall for these. (I mean what jobs pay you in advance or in Money Orders?)
    i guess when money is tight and something seems to good to be true, people dont realize that its TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

    I had the same e-mail, it’s say exactly the same, but this time was from Michelle Foster….we should to do something with these kind of people. We need a real job to feed our family…and Career Builder, Monster, etc should be more carefuly with the people that subscribe with them looking for employees, they should to verify that are legit companies, we need a job we don’t need thiefs in our lifes!!!!….

    Omg they did the same thing to me but I didn’t get scammed yet they are suppose to send me the first check this week but I decided to look it up first, good thing you guys put this up or I would of been screwed! But can someone please explain to me what exactly they do and how to they scam you? Is the check fake or something?

      I was just contacted by Barbra Craig today. Being a banker myself for 20 years. I told her that I would not cash a check until it was collected from the issuing bank. I asked for her phone number and wanted to talk to her about how banking works in the US. Of course i’m tempted to have a check mailed to me for an apparent purchase of medical equipment. As we all know the buyers name is printed on the check I would call the customer and “verify” that this is an actual purchase order. If this person has no idea what i’m talking about then i will immediately know that it is a scam. I would never deposit the check until i verify all the information. I wouldn’t be scammed but the person who wrote the check would be scammed. I would then take the check to local authority’s and report bellsouth healthcare solutions. SHE WILL BE SORRY THAT SHE MESSED WITH A BANKER!! I will keep you posted!

    I got the same email like everyone else on careerbuilder.com on 8/19/2011. It says exactly word for word from Barbara Craig with the same info. stated that she’s from United Kingdom. I read the first time and thought wow, this is an easy job. I read it again and gave some thoughts to it, and to me it sounds too good to be true. I then did my research under Bellsouth Healthcare Solution PLC and this is how I ran into finding out that it is a SCAM. Thanks everyone for letting others like me to get the information needed before they get into and regret from it.

    I, too, received the “job offer” from Barbara Craig this morning. She claims to be the International Human Resource Manager of BellSouth Healthcare Solution PLC.

    Being a single mom I wanted this to be something legit. Would have been nice.

    The part that has me baffled is that these people are posting these “positions” through CareerBuilder, Monster.com, etc. These are supposed to be reputable job searching websites.

    Ms. Craig tossed the same job offer my way a few minutes ago. I must admit that when it opened with, “Having seen your resume I would like to offer you a position with our company.”, my heart skipped a beat. I have been unemployed for 2 1/2 years. Oh how I wanted that to be legit! Then I read on. DELETE!!! I hope these messages will help other folks that might be thinking about saying “Yes”.

    I received the same e-mail as everybody else and the name of the sender is Barbara Craig and the new name of the company is BellSouth Healthcare Solution PLC, PLEASE PEOPLE JUST BE CAREFUL WITH THESE SCAMMERS. I know it was a scam because no body needs your bank account for anything that’s your private account don’t get scam by this heartless people. Nobody have to ask about your bank account remember that.Best wishes for everybody God bless.

    I too received the same emails from this Kate Dodd. I was watching the Hansen Files and they are asking for people to write in and tell them about people scamming online so they can do a story. Don’t let these people get away with it send your story into Chris Hansen at thehansenfiles@nbcuni.com

    I sent in all email communication with them and the contract.

    I also received the same job offer and I instantly knew that is was a scam when my only job duties were to handle funds … c’mon! What would stop me from keeping all the money? Nothing! So, what company in their right mind would trust a stranger with their money?
    By the way, below is the name that is being used now. If it sounds too good to be true … it’s usually a scam.

    I got caught by this scam too and I am so incredibly embarrassed and beyond angry!! Does anybody know a way to legally go after this person for what they have done to us? I saved every single email and the “contract” that was e-signed by both Eve Chadwick (if that is her real name) and obviously myself. With all this documentation, I would think that I have the necessary information to back me up in any court of law. If anybody has taken any actions or knows where I should start, please reply!! So sorry to all of you that got scammed right along with me…I definitely know it hurts!!

        I also have received the same emails from Abigail Lash. I responded, but have not accepted her offer (Thank God). I am very happy to see that these scams have been posted. Hopefully no one else will fall into this trap! It’s unbelieveable that this person can get away with scamming people again and again. I do hope they can be stopped.

    This is nuts I typed Eve Chadwick into bing.com after I realized this was a scam and then this was the very first thing to come up! I can’t believe I fell for this crap, and I too am mad because I am a broke student and needed an easy way to make cash, but um ruining a bank account is not on my list of things to do haha
